Beethoven and Brahms Movie

Beethoven and Brahms Description: "Homero Francesch started to take piano lessons at the age of six. He had his first public appearance at the age of thirteen. After winning a scholarship, he concluded his studies at the Munich Conservatory. By means of a TV appearance, all at once Francesch became well-known to a wide audience. This was in 1973 and since then he has been continually successful as a pianist. He has toured the whole world and performed at all renowned festivals. In 1991 he recorded all of Mozart's Piano Sonatas and Piano Concerts. Francesch also pays particular attention to contemporary music, especially to the works of Hans-Werner Henze. In 1994 he recorded Henze's complete works for piano. At present, Francesch lives in Zurich where he holds a master class for piano at the conservatory.

"Having studied composition and conducting at the Conservatory of Paris, Serge Baudo chose to pursue composition at first. He wrote music for French radio as well as scoring films. Very quickly, however, his career as a conductor took an international turn and precedence over his career as a composer. His first major appointment was that of permanent conductor at the Paris Opera. Serge Baudo has guest conducted with many of the world's most important orchestras and opera companies. On the DVD in hand, Baudo conducts the renowned Orchestra Della Svizzera Italiana based in Lugano. Consisting of 41 permanent musicians, the orchestra regularly invites soloists and guest conductors to perform together."
