Starring: Many people complain that Vivid's films are at times too overwrought with arty pretensions that they crowd the characters and dampen the heat. While I normally admire Vivid's attempts to stylize their work, this one is an example of what frustrates people. Convoluted and sexually muted, it stars Sandi beach and Steven St. Croix as a couple kicking back in the desert when their lives are contorted by four strangers who cross their path.
As crisp and clean as any Vivid production, but director Layne Parker has a cold eye. The opening sex between Sandi and St. Croix is too clinical, too icy. It's like the performers hardly know one another.
It struggles to generate heat. And with Anna Malle and Kylie Ireland on hand, that shouldn't be hard to do. The problem? These strangers--Anna Malle, Hank Armstrong, Marc Wallice, and, sadly, Ireland--all remain cyphers. So when Kylie hops on Anna's pussy, it's by the numbers.
The outdoor ogry is well-shot and erotic. But that and mysterious Malle's anal with Hank are the only scenes that really work.
The characters are empty.
A Style, but little substance.
